Crispa needed a structured approach to measure ESG performance and identify net-zero pathways in food manufacturing.
COSIRI revealed Scope 3 supply chain emissions as the priority gap. A procurement sustainability programme was launched.
Crispa Snacks is a leading snack food manufacturer in the Philippines, supplying major retailers across Southeast Asia. As sustainability reporting requirements tightened, Crispa needed a credible framework to assess its position and build a structured improvement roadmap.
The Challenge
Like most food manufacturers, Crispa had a solid grasp of its direct operational emissions but no systematic view of Scope 3 emissions, which for a snack food manufacturer are dominated by agricultural ingredient supply chains.
The COSIRI Assessment
The COSIRI assessment confirmed that Crispa’s operational sustainability practices were relatively strong but revealed a significant gap in sustainable procurement. Supplier sustainability requirements were absent and Scope 3 accounting was not conducted.
The Sustainability Programme
Based on COSIRI findings, Crispa launched a targeted procurement sustainability programme addressing its highest-impact gap. The programme includes supplier sustainability questionnaires, preferred supplier certification, and a Scope 3 accounting methodology.
