OPERI for Micro Manufacturers

A deep dive into how OPERI’s 18-dimension self-assessment framework helps micro and small businesses identify their operational gaps and build a practical improvement plan.

OPERI was designed with one principle in mind: operational excellence assessment should be accessible to every manufacturer, regardless of size. For micro manufacturers this means a self-administered, affordable, and immediately actionable assessment.

The 18 Dimensions

OPERI covers 18 operational dimensions organised into four pillars: Process & Quality, Equipment & Technology, Workforce & Safety, and Customer & Market. Each dimension is assessed through a structured questionnaire that takes approximately 45 minutes to complete.

Reading the OPERI Output

The OPERI output is a radar chart showing current maturity across all 18 dimensions, alongside an industry benchmark for manufacturers in the same sector and size band. The dimensions furthest below benchmark are identified as priority improvement areas.

OPERI also provides improvement guidance for each dimension — specific actions that a manufacturer can take to advance from their current maturity level to the next. This makes the assessment immediately actionable, not just diagnostic.

Cost and Access

OPERI is available at a subsidised rate for micro manufacturers in partnership with government agencies in Singapore, Japan, and several EU member states. Contact INCIT or your regional industrial development agency to access OPERI at no cost.
